Steve Jankowski - Trumpet, Fluglehorn, Piccolo Trumpet, Valve Trombone

REAL LIVE HORNS are a professional horn section with proven experience live and in the studio as performers and arrangers in a wide variety of musical styles. Why use that synthetic sound when you can have REAL LIVE HORNS?!

REAL LIVE HORNS, Jay Davidson and Steve Jankowski, began playing together in 1989 when they were brought together as co-endorsers of LA Saxes/Horns. Jay and Steve immediately recognized a blend of styles, impeccable intonation, and a similarity of phrasing, which sparked the desire to form a committed cohesive horn section. Since then, REAL LIVE HORNS has enjoyed
recording together for Darryl Hall, Luther Vandross, Cinderella, a Rolling Stones remix, Monty Alexander w/Sly and Robbie, Big Chief, Joe Little, Amy Grant, and can currently be seen performing with the Philadelphia 76ers House Band in front of thousands at all the 76ers home games. Recently, Steve and Jay have been touring the U.S. and Europe with the Lifetime Achievement Grammy winning Funk Brothers.

Jay is currently the most sought after rock and roll sax player on the Philly recording scene. He attained that distinction after recording for such acts as Cinderella ("Heartbreak Station" - Platinum Record Award), Aerosmith, John Cougar Mellencamp, Bob Dylan, Stephanie Mills, Gladys Knight and more. Jay is also highly regarded on the touring scene, and is currently touring with the Funk Brothers, who recently won a grammy and a lifetime achievement award for the movie "Standing in the Shadows of Motown". In 1988 he played saxophone and keyboards on Whitney Houston's sold out "Moment of Truth" world tour and in 1990-91 he played saxophone and keyboards on Cinderella's "Heartbreak Station" tour. Other highlights in Jay's career include a performance at Nelson Mandela's 70th Birthday Celebration in Wembley Stadium to over 100,000 people, an appearance on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, numerous music videos, writing, recording and producing the VH-1 "Flix" theme song, and performances with Chubby Checker, The Four Tops, The O'Jays, The Temptations, Sister Sledge, and Tommy Conwell. Jay spends time writing, producing & arranging out of his studio "J'z Joynt" and at other locales in and around the Philadelphia Area, where he's a member of the Philadelphia 76ers HouseBand. More information on Jay can be found at:www.jzjoynt.com.

Steve is an accomplished performer, composer and arranger. Steve just returned from Las vegas where he performed Nile Rodgers and Chic for the MGM Grand's New Year's eve party 2003/2004. Steve's most recent touring was with the Funk Brothers in the U.S. and in Europe. The tour featured guest artists Steve Winwood and Billy Preston. Prior to that Steve was a part of Don Henley's "Inside Job" tour in 2000, and prior to that with K.C. & the Sunshine Band on their world tour. Another highlight in his career was being asked by the legendary horn band "Chicago" to complete the east coast leg of their 25th Anniversary tour including a televised 4th of July appearance at Joe Robbie Stadium in Miami. Steve can also be seen in"Dice Rules", a comedy film featuring Andrew Dice Clay, filmed at Madison Square Garden on the last stop of Dice's North American Arena Tour. Steve arranged the horn parts and played trumpet on Dice's single "Brooklyn Bad Boy", and appeared in the music video of the same title, which is the opening scene of the movie. Some of Steve's other accomplishments include performances with Shakira, The Funk Brothers (from "Standing in the Shadows of Motown"), Donna Summer, Billy Idol, The Temptations, Martha Reeves, Duke Ellington's "Sophisticated Ladies" (solo and lead trumpet), and recordings with The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Jay Z., MaddCrop, and numerous jingles. Steve has also performed for royalty at the King of Morocco's New Years Eve party 2001/2002. Steve engineers and produces at Jankland Recording, a 48 track fully automated digital studio which he owns. For more information on Steve go to:www.SteveJankowski.com.
